To view the world as contiguous, intertwined
Vertebrae stacked and working together
creating an electrical whole
Energy that unites our countries and states
mountains and rivers, oceans and valleys
We are one with the birds and bees, giraffes and hippopatomi,
zebra to arachnid
The ones we exploit
and those who cozy up with us on our beds at night
Each person, every child
No matter the language, color
The coins in their pocket
The truth in their heart
A central nervous system like a river bed
joined together above and below earth’s surface
beneath the oceans, across the skies
The empathy of love
Together
It’s Imperative to take care
without worry, with foresight and intelligence
Just one person, one accident can sever this delicate system
Suddenly, dis-abled
To walk or run, numb
(paralyzed—if we let a spineless coward cause ruin to beauty.)
Like a Tsunami rising, we will stitch together each vertebrae until there is no room for bigotry, betrayal or selfish rot
Once again, we will walk with our brothers and sisters
from all walks of life, all nations, arms linked in solidarity
never again to be subjects
never spineless
no, never again.
